Project estimate calculator
Turn your labor, materials and other costs into a clear project estimate. Choose your own markup, tax and deposit, then see exactly how the numbers add up.

Deposit is calculated from the total including tax. This is an estimate, not an invoice or a binding quote.

How the project estimate is calculated
- Multiply labor hours by cost per hour.
- Add materials and other costs.
- Add your markup percentage to those base costs.
- Apply optional tax to the subtotal.
- Calculate an optional deposit from the final total.
Amounts are rounded to two decimal places at each step. A 20% markup is not a 20% profit margin: adding 20 to a cost of 100 gives a price of 120 and a margin of about 16.67%, before any other expenses.
What should I check before sharing?
Confirm the scope, quantities, exclusions, schedule and applicable taxes. This simple calculator uses one tax rate for the whole project and does not account for mixed tax rates or exemptions. An estimate is only as reliable as the costs you enter.
Make the estimate part of a complete proposal
